The ranch wouldn’t feed him and, despite it being mid summer, Ugo had no access to water.
He became a shadow of his former self, malnourished and left for dead.
His bones were protruding, and he even contracted parasites that made him appear bloated, masking the terrible condition he was in.
Ugo’s condition was so bad that he would stay fixated in one place for hours.
That behaviour is a striking contrast to an otherwise curious and playful nature of a horse.
With no use left of Ugo, his owner was preparing to send him to a slaughterhouse.
